At the end of March, my lovely wife and I headed out to the Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm for the first open Saturday of their spring Tulip Festival. We arrived at opening, 9am, to find that many other area photographers had also been waiting all winter for this morning as well. The light was not ideal, but was good enough. It was kind of a hazy but sunny morning. We were there early enough, and it was cool enough to still catch some dew on the tulips.
Traci and I had both of our camera bodies along, one with the 17-50mm wide angle zoom lens for landscape and interesting wide angle perspective photos of the flowers and the fields, and the other with the 70-200mm lens, sometimes used with extension tubes to get macro shots including the morning's dew. We exchanged cameras a few times through the morning as we each grew restless with the less that we were using.
It was great to see Traci have so much fun with the hobby that I've come to enjoy so much. Some of these photos in each of our slideshow are now displayed in a little photo gallery on top of our kitchen cabinets in our home. Traci’s slideshow also includes pictures from our Easter Sunday visit with my parents. That outing just may be the next post.
My pick? Many. But the third from last in Traci's show grabs me. Could it be the yellow? Many nice shots. Some really nice details if you dive into the images... little water drops on leaf edges, etc. Thanks
ReplyDeleteI completely agree with you Bruce. It's been decided Traci's shot will end up as a canvas wrap in our house. It's just a matter of where and what size.
ReplyDeleteThen that makes three of us. That one just jumps out at me as the best of the best.
ReplyDeleteI cannot think of a more photogenic venue than a tulip festival.
I am now convinced that I need a third lens for my Nikon and that is one of those wide angle lenses for greater depth of field. I am feeling kind of limited right now.
